
Project Timeline
After years of dreaming about a Nakui-Iteri Primary School with government officials, denominational leaders and mission agencies, a school at the Iteri airstrip was successfully launched in April 2023. God continues to bless our efforts and we are optimistic that in 2024 we will be able to offer education to over 100 students who have never had a chance to go to school before.

2019: Key meetings with the Provincial Education Secretary take place raising awareness to these underserved communities in the far western reaches of the province. A census is taken of the student population and is presented to key government officials.

October 2021: A vision trip to Iteri by plane with government officials takes place to meet the community, view the proposed school site and assess need. Approval is given to being school construction.

April 2022: Bush materials are gathered and building materials arrive with a work team. With the help of the community, a two-classroom school building with office is completed.

October 2022: Second work team completes two teacher homes.

November 2022: The school officially registered with the province.

December 2022: Partnership with CBC church denomination is established to provide teachers and administration of the school.

April 2023: Teachers Edwin and Lisa Yaim arrive in Iteri. The first school-term is launched with 91 students.

September 2023: Term 2 begins and a work team builds a temporary dormitory and a third teacher home.

January 2024: Our first full year of school begins with 95 students.

April 2024: Desmond, our third teacher joins our teaching staff and 2nd grade is launched.

June 2024: School is shut down for the year when an outside group causes unrest forcing teachers to be evacuated.

January 2025: Our second school year begins with 3 teachers, 4 grade levels and 93 students.

May-June 2025: US work team scheduled to arrive to build a medical clinic at the school.
